The temples of the northern highlands — two of them built out over lake water, and a Buddhist monastery looking down over the Lovina coast.

- Ulundanu Gubug Tamblingan Temple
- Brahmavihara Arama Budha Temple
Explore the culture and nature of the northern part of Bali island with us. We provide fullday or halfday tours through the hidden gems of North Bali — temples, waterfalls, jungles, rice fields and viewpoints, in the order you want them.
The Tour
Explore the culture and nature of the northern part of Bali island with us. This is not a fixed itinerary — you tell us which of the hidden gems of North Bali you want to see, and we build the driving day around them. Temples on a lake, twin waterfalls in the jungle, rice terraces, coffee gardens, and viewpoints most day trips never reach.
Choose halfday for four to five hours, or fullday for eight to nine hours with time for several waterfalls and a hotspring. You travel in a private car with an English speaking local driver who knows which spots are quiet at which hour, so you are not queueing for the same photo as everyone else.
Send us a shortlist from the destinations below and we route the day in the smartest order.
Air conditioned car for your group only, with petrol and all parking fees already in the price.
A local from Buleleng who can explain what you are looking at, and take the photo for you.
Four to five hours, or eight to nine. Same car, same driver — you decide how far the day goes.
Hidden Gems Of North Bali
Everything below is on the map. Pick the stops you want — a halfday comfortably covers two or three, a fullday four to six depending on how long you linger.
The temples of the northern highlands — two of them built out over lake water, and a Buddhist monastery looking down over the Lovina coast.
Waterfalls
North Bali has more waterfalls than the rest of the island combined. Some are a five minute walk, others a proper jungle trek — tell us how much walking you want.
Jungle
Rainforest around the twin lakes, terraces that run to the horizon, and a coffee garden where you can taste what grows on the slope you are standing on.
Photo Spots
The famous ones — swings and nests over the lake, the viewpoint between Buyan and Tamblingan, and the gate everybody photographs. Best light is early morning.
Add any of these to your route — the coast excursions work best at sunrise, the hotspring at the end of the day.
Wild dolphins off the Lovina coast at first light, on a local outrigger boat. Starts before sunrise.
Natural sulphur hot springs in a jungle garden near Lovina. Bring a swimsuit and a towel.
The big souvenir house — snacks, sarongs and gifts to take home, on the way back through Singaraja.
Banana boat, jet ski and snorkelling on the calm north coast water. Tickets paid on the spot.
How Long It Takes
Enough for two or three stops close together — a temple and a waterfall, or the twin lake viewpoints and the Handara gate. Good for a morning before lunch, or an afternoon into sunset.
The whole north in one day — temples, two or three waterfalls, a rice terrace, a coffee garden and the hotspring, with time to swim and eat properly along the way.
One example only — swap any stop for another from the list above.
Collected from your hotel, then up into the highlands for the iconic gate before the crowds.
Ulundanu Beratan on the water, then Wanagiri Hidden Hills over the twin lakes.
Banyumala Twin Waterfalls for a swim, with a warung stop when you are hungry.
Banjar Hotspring to finish, souvenirs at Krisna if you want them, then home.

Good To Know

On a halfday of four to five hours, two or three stops that sit close together. On a fullday of eight to nine hours, four to six — though waterfalls with a long trek eat more time than a temple or a viewpoint. Send us your list and we will tell you honestly what fits.
Yes — that is the point of a customized daytour. If the weather turns at one waterfall, or you want to stay longer somewhere, just tell your driver and the rest of the day gets rearranged around it.
It depends which one. Gitgit and Banyuwana Amerta are short easy walks. Banyumala and Sekumpul involve a lot of steps down and back up. Tell us your comfort level and we will choose the ones that suit — bring shoes with grip and a swimsuit.
We are based in Singaraja, Buleleng, so the rate above is for the North Bali area. Pickup from Ubud, Canggu, Seminyak or the airport is possible with extra driving time — text or call us with where you are staying and we will quote it.
