The Ritual

Melukat At The Holy Springs

The Balinese water blessing and healing, known as MELUKAT, is an ancient spiritual purification ritual designed to cleanse the body, mind and spirit from negative energy, trauma and bad karma. It is led by a local priest (Pemangku) or a local healer (Balian), and it involves offerings, prayers, and immersion in sacred natural holy springs and pool.

The springs sit just next to Munduk centre, in a village named Kayuputih — an ancient village that has existed since prehistoric times. This activity is also paired with a wellness session and a spiritual consultation, so there is time to talk through what the ritual means before and after you enter the water.

Sacred natural springs

Immersion in holy spring water and a natural pool, not a replica — the same springs the village has used for centuries.

Led by a priest or healer

A local Pemangku or Balian guides the offerings and prayers, and your guide translates every step.

Wellness & consultation

The longer option pairs the blessing with a healing wellness session and a spiritual consultation.

Pickup and drop back

Hotel pick up and drop back is included, along with offerings, sarong preparation and a coffee or tea break.

Common Questions

Is Rp 1.000.000 per person?

No — 1000k is the waterblessing rate for a couple, and each additional person is 300k. For the waterblessing and healing it is 1600k for a couple, with 400k for each additional person. That covers hotel pick up and drop back, the complete offerings, the priest and spring donation, your guide, sarong preparation and a coffee or tea break.

What actually happens during Melukat?

A local priest (Pemangku) or local healer (Balian) leads the ritual. Offerings are prepared and laid, prayers are said at the spring, and then you are immersed in the sacred natural holy springs and pool. It is a purification meant to cleanse the body, mind and spirit from negative energy, trauma and bad karma.

Where are the springs?

Just next to Munduk centre, in a village named Kayuputih — an ancient village that has existed since prehistoric times. Hotel pick up and drop back is included, so you do not need to arrange your own transport.

Is there anything I should know before booking?

Please make sure you are not in your menstrual period — this applies to women only, and it is a requirement of the ritual at the springs rather than our own rule. If your dates fall awkwardly, just message us and we will move the booking.

What should I bring with me?

Changing clothes and cash money. You go into the water fully, so a dry set to change into afterwards matters, and there is no card payment at the springs. The sarong for the ritual is prepared for you.
